Spiritan Campus Ministry is fortunate that the university supplies our weekly needs to provide Spiritan Campus Ministry events each night. Your donations help us to perform yearly renovations and once a year programs that enrich our students.
This past year, we were able to use your generous donations to renovate the Spiritan Campus Ministry Center:
- New, sturdy furniture, bean bags, and side tables were added to enhance the use and comfortability of the space.
- A Smart TV was purchased for learning, presentation, and teaching purposes. The Smart TV has enhanced the presentations of many groups including CEL, a group that discusses topics pertaining to life from the moment of conception to natural death. The TV has also been used to broadcast Christian contemporary music during Christians In Action, and for videos during ALIVE to grow in formation of our faith.
- The room was also painted a calming blue color to allow the students to use the space for studying and hanging out with friends.
As you can see from the video, your generosity is so greatly appreciated by the students. We thank you for your support and look forward to the projects we will be able to do in the future because of your generosity.
Your donations could help to fund:
- Renovation of the Sound System: Our next big, long-range goal is a digital sound system in the chapel. As technology is always rapidly changing and improving, we have come to realize that the sound system in the chapel would greatly benefit from some upgrades and improvements. Making the change from an analog to a digital system would eliminate some of the concerns with the current system such as dead spots in the space as well as signal interference noise. The prayer life of our community would greatly benefit from a chapel sound system where every prayer is heard and understood.
- Spotlight over the altar: Benediction and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament have become very popular in the past few years. We recognize the need to have a spotlight over the altar to enhance the experience of the students in Adoration of Jesus in the most Blessed Sacrament. Silent Adoration is offered once a month in addition to our monthly ALIVE, which offers the opportunity of Adoration in conjunction with praise, worship, and a testimony given by a student. 24 hour adoration is also being offered. A spotlight would help enhance these experiences for all students, and we appreciate your support in helping our students grow in their faith life.
- Spiritan Mission Experiences: Each year, Spiritan Campus Ministry offers mission trips to the following locations: Mullens, WV; Immokalee, Fl; Arlington/Baltimore; Chicago/Dayton and the Dominican Republic. These trips provide a hands-on learning experience for students where the education goes beyond the classroom. They learn the importance of meeting people where they are and working with other communities to create a better world. Your donations offer this opportunity for all students, regardless of their financial situations.
- March for Life: Each year, your generous donations provide the campus community with a bus to attend the March for Life in Washington D.C. The purchase of the bus allows our community to peacefully stand up for the right to life for all people, born and unborn.
