The impact of your gift

In the Bayer School, we educate our students so that they can contribute to scientific advancement as they prepare for exciting and rewarding careers in environmental and forensic sciences, physics, chemistry, biology and medicine.

Participation in nationally funded research projects and academic and career guidance from dedicated faculty mentors offer students of the Bayer School a comprehensive, individualized educational experience.

This is done through our:

  • Undergraduate Research

  • Community Engaged Programs

  • Groundbreaking Academic Programs

  • Partnerships with Pittsburgh’s Scientific Community

  • Supporting student travel to attend and present at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS).
  • Supporting the student-led the environmental awareness event titled “Waste is Wack.”
  • Providing support for students to attend and present at the Northeastern Association of Forensic Scientists meeting (NEAFS), where two of the students received research fellowships awards from NEAFS.
  • Supported student travel to attend and present at the National Society of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers conference.
  • Provided support for student participation in the University of Georgia’s Conservation Medicine Workshop.
